It’s very well documented that having a dog is good for your health and for your life in general. They love unconditionally, they also can lower your blood pressure.
After we decided that owning a dog is awesome, now you should consider adopting one and not buy. Here are a few reasons to adopt a dog:
The number one reason: you are saving a life and that is huge. That dog you adopt will be forever grateful to you and will love you no matter what.
Dogs can bring so much happiness and joy in our lives and as you may know already there are so many doggies waiting in shelters around the world for forever homes.
A 4-year-old pit bull dog named Drove was found tied up inside an abandoned house. He was injured and in bad medical condition. After he recovered he was taken in by the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby (HSM&S). All the staff members fell in love as soon as they met Drove. He is a very calm and sweet doggie, very loyal, and will bring lots of joy to an adopting family. But the time passed, people came and go, but no one wanted Drove.
After 8 months something amazing happened!
Morgan and Tyler, a newly married couple came to the shelter looking to adopt a new dog, after her old dog and long time partner, a Boxer passed away at the age of 13.
They wanted a rescue so they went to the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby and met Drove.
They fell in love they soon as they met him!
“When I received the call that we could adopt him, I was so happy I was holding back tears,” said Morgan.
After they finished all the paperwork, they renamed the dog Sammy and he had the greatest wake-up call ever! His new owners were ready to take Sammy home.
A staff member recalled the heart-melting moment saying: „He’s just sleeping so sweetly with no idea he’s going to be going home soon!”
“Since the first night we brought him home, he hates to leave our side,” Morgan said. “If my husband or I get up to grab some water, or leave the room for a second, he follows us to make sure we are not leaving.”
