A sick teenager received a concert in her room from Florence Welch. The young woman, who was hospitalized at Austin Hospital in Texas, USA, had tickets for Florence’s concert, but could not go because of her poor health.
The hope of going to that concert was one of the things that made her survive the treatment she was receiving for her illness. When she was told she could not go because physically she was devastated.
So the nurses at the hospital, together with the young woman’s family and friends, tried to get in touch with Florence Welch. When they finally managed to do so and the singer arrived at the hospital, the girl’s mother burst into tears of happiness and offered Welch a hug of gratitude.
The singer was accompanied by guitarist Rob Ackroyd and sang “Shake It Out” and “Dog Days Are Over”.
