Representatives of the Connecticut authorities told the press that a 3-year-old girl was found living in a house alone with her dead mother, it seems that the little girl had nothing to eat but cereal for days.
The body of the 37-year-old woman was discovered on Monday in her own bedroom when a social worker went to check on the child after his mother had not brought him to the nursery.
Lieutenant Joshua Litwin said the girl survived by eating only cereal spilled on the floor. Police do not know how long the little girl was alone in the house with her mother’s body, but it seems certain that it was more than two days.
Investigators found nothing to prove the woman was killed. The little girl was dehydrated but happy. She was hospitalized.
The cause of his mother’s death will be known after the results of the autopsy.
