An abandoned child was “buried for 8 days” in a cemetery and was rescued when a woman heard his screams underground, the incredible fact is that the baby was found alive after so long.
It appears that a woman went to the cemetery to clear the grass from a grave in the Guangxi region of China. She then heard a cry like coming from under the ground, writes Nanguo Morning Post.
Frightened, the woman hurried back to the village to call someone and returned with the police. Officials dug a few inches and found a muddy cardboard box in the ground containing the baby.
It seems that the baby had been abandoned by his parents because he had a small defect in his lip, they left him on April 25 last year in the cemetery, and two days later they returned to bury him, believing him dead.
8 days later he was found in an incredibly poor condition, coughing up dirty water, but he was alive. Authorities believe he survived because he had oxygen in the box and because rainwater seeped in, allowing him not to die of thirst.
The child was taken to the hospital and recovered. It seems that the mother abandoned the little one because she says, she panicked when she saw the defect in his lip. She and her husband are from poor families. Although child abandonment is illegal in China, more than 260 children have been abandoned in a single province in just 2 months.
