It was a beautiful, sunny day when Nadia Fiore and her family were preparing for a day of relaxing on the grill. Everyone was looking forward to eating the burgers with the grilled meat, and Nadia knew that her son, Anthony, couldn’t wait to poke his teeth into a burger.
So Mommy made sure the first one came back to him. But the moment he swallowed the first bite, the look of happiness on his face suddenly turned to horror.
The child told his mother that he felt something sting him in the throat like needles. Frightened, Nadia rushed him to the hospital where they received the X-Ray results on the spot.
The doctors saw that the boy had a small object stuck in his throat – a hair from an old brush to clean the grill. It seems that this is a fairly common problem in spring because when the weather is warmer, people go out to the grill and use old utensils to clean them. Because of this, Anthony had to have surgery to remove the hair from his throat.
The good news is that the operation went well. The bad news is that the little one has developed a throat infection from the bacteria on the grill. The grill brush his family used was so old that it was covered in germs and literally disintegrated.
The family had no way of knowing that these old brushes could be so dangerous. Fortunately, Anthony has recovered, and now they are warning others to throw away those old brushes because they endanger their lives.
