All parents have at least one picture of their babies on the phone to brag to friends, colleagues, relatives, or to look at themselves in times of longing.
However, a father from England made the discovery of his life in a recent photo taken of his little one, who saved his child. He noticed that a strange yellow spot was visible in the retina of one eye, unlike the other eye.
So, to calm down, he went to the doctor who, not wanting to give him the diagnosis without further confirmation, sent him to an ophthalmologist. He confirmed his fears – the little boy had developed a kind of strabismus but with retinoblastoma, a form of cancer caused by overpopulation with retinal cells.
The doctors gave the parents two choices: either they take out the little one’s eye so that it doesn’t stretch to the other one, or they try the chemotherapy treatment to see if the tumor diminishes. The parents chose to give chemotherapy a chance and fortunately, the tumor shrank 3 times as it was.
Unfortunately, it will never completely withdraw, and the little boy will have to keep it under regular control all his life.
Thank God that his father noticed the little one’s problem and didn’t think about it and went to the doctor until it was too late because there are parents who don’t notice, or if he notices something strange he ignores it and thus children whose doctors don’t they have more to do than take out both eyes.
Therefore, be very careful with your children, do not ignore anything. A short check can save lives.
