Name three things that children love? Surely, among the things that you thought about was candy, right? Maybe all of us were at that point where when seeing a chocolate or a candy bar in a store, our parents were bombarded with requests and sometimes even screams if it was about something that really caught the attention of the kid. Eventually we would reach an agreement with them and get what he asked for, in exchange for behaving and be quiet.. for one minute. The little girl in the following story was used to find sweets in her grandma’s purse but this time got her hands on something totally different.
Nelly, a four years old beautiful girl was having a great time and lots of fun at her grandparent’s house. She was supposed to stay there for a week, playing with the dogs and cats in the backyard and eat a lot of sweets from her grandparents. She knew that her grandma was always keeping candy inside her handbag, so one day, without asking first she went to the usual place where the handbags were kept. She checked inside and curious as any other kid, she took out something different that looked like a toy in the first place.
Nobody imagined that she will be that curious and put her hands on the pistol that was inside the purse. She took out the gun and started playing with it, and at some point, she pointed it towards her chest. That day, was about the become Zoller family darkest day. Nolly pulled the trigger and she shot herself in the chest, on September 14th. It was a real nightmare when her 22 years old father arrived home and instead of the usual picture with his little girl running towards him to hug, he saw a bunch of police cars, waiting to deliver a terrible message. He couldn’t believe his ears when the police told him what happened. He cursed that day and asked for more explanations from his mother, about the gun and why was that gun there.
The parent’s marriage was already in tension and this event ruined it completely. Shane and Lizette divorced and she filled a form so her ex-husband will keep a minimum of 500 feet away from her. It’s a real tragedy what happened to Nelly, she had a bright future ahead. We hope that her soul will rest in peace.
