A family in Minnesota had a life-changing experience.
They adopted a pit bull mix named Joy from the animal shelter 2 years ago. He got along well with the whole family, especially with their two children, 10-year-old Jonas and 6-year-old Emilly.
The children and the dog were inseparable. They played all day together, went hiking, and slept in the same bed at night.
One evening, Jonas entered the house earlier and told his family that she was going to take a bath. The rest of the family remained in the backyard. At one point, the child’s mother heard some strange sounds.
When she entered the house she realized that the sounds were coming from upstairs. When she got upstairs, she heard Joy, the family dog barking loudly. The woman went into the bathroom and saw Jonas lying unconscious and his feet were hanging outside of the bathtub. Joy tried to get him out by pulling his hair or hands.
Jonas had suffered a heart attack and fainted in the tub full of water. Joy felt something was wrong, so she managed to open the bathroom door and immediately jumped in, trying to get Jonas out of the bathtub.
At first, the mother was frightened to see Jonas out of breath and Joy pulling on him. But she immediately realized that the dog was just trying to save his life and not let him drown in the tub.
The woman immediately called 911 and the ambulance arrived in a few minutes. The doctors took Jonas to the hospital and managed to save his life.
Thanks to Joy, Jonas is now alive.
“If it wasn’t for Joy, I wouldn’t want to think about what might happen to Jonas. We will always be grateful to Joy for saving my boy’s life. He will certainly receive many steaks as a reward. ” said my mother.
This is another proof that dogs are wonderful animals, who love their owners more than they love themselves.
