Every child wants a pet. Some children prefer a dog, other cats, rabbits, or birds. But this 11-year-old from Cambodia has a more unusual pet.

When Sambath was only 3 months old, the parents found a small snake under the child’s crib. The parents got scared and I kicked the snake out of the house, but a few days later the snake came back home.

Every time they kicked him out, the snake kept coming back to their house, so in the end, his parents decided to keep him. They even gave him a name, “Chomran.”

For 11 years the snake lived in the house and was the child’s best friend. Being a python, the snake has grown a lot in recent years and now weighs 250 lbs.

Even though everyone considers them crazy because they keep such a snake in the house, Sambath’s parents say that the snake is very gentle and that they trust him.

Over time, there have been several unfortunate incidents in which snakes raised as pets have injured or even killed people.

“Chomran is part of our family. He has been in our house for 11 years and so far he has not even been aggressive with us or the child. The snake sleeps with our child and is very attentive and caring with him. I know this type of snake can be dangerous, but I can assure you that Chomran is gentle and could never hurt our child or us. “ said the child’s father.
