Gigantism is a very rare condition found especially in humans, and is defined by the secretion of hormones called somatotropin, which is the growth hormone. The Australian cow suffers from gigantism and stopped growing until she was 7 years old. However, it cannot be called a disease, but rather a benefit. It is not affected at all by this malformation of the gland that produces more growth hormone. Everyone is surprised when they see Big Moo and the owner got used to words like “enormous”, “titan”, “huge” and others.
