Ronda Kopernick, a 45-year-old woman, lives in Pennsylvania with her pitbull, Oscar, 2 years old.
Ronda rescued Oscar from the dog shelter when the dog was 6 months old. Since then, the two have been inseparable. They go everywhere together, they like to walk, they go hiking. Oscar loves nature and especially water.
Whenever Ronda has the opportunity, she goes with Oscar to the river where the dog swims and rolls in the mud for hours. Every night, after Ronda, returns from work, the two walk around the neighborhood for at least an hour. After the walk, the two serve dinner and watch TV together.
One evening, Ronda returned from work and went for a walk with Oscar, as usual.
After walking for 2 hours, they were both exhausted, so Ronda sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. But as soon as they entered the house, Oscar began to behave strangely. He barked constantly and fidgeted. He wanted to go outside.
Ronda thought she was hungry, so she made Oscar something to eat, but the dog didn’t even touch the food. He continued to bark and shake.
“We just came from outside and he wanted us to go out again. This has never happened before. I kept telling him we weren’t going out, that it was late, but Oscar kept insisting and barking in a non-stop way. “ told Ronda.
Because Oscar couldn’t calm down, Ronda had to go out with him again. After she put the leash on him, Oscar began to pull her hard.
“He walked very nicely on a leash, he never pulls like he did that night. It was as if he wanted to pull me away from home. “
After 15 minutes the woman wanted to go back home, but the dog did not want to.
“He had gotten down and he didn’t want to go anymore, he didn’t want to enter the house. I was 10 feet from my house. Then I heard a loud sound from the house, it was the alarm from the gas sensor. Looks like I had a gas leak, and Oscar realized long before the sensor detected the problem. Incredible!”
Ronda called 911 and after the specialists intervened, they concluded that there was an imminent danger of an explosion in the kitchen. A pipe was cracked and gas had spread throughout the house, especially in the kitchen.
Thanks to Oscar, a tragedy was averted! This pit bull is a real hero!
