Passers-by passed ignorantly past the baby lying on the stairs on the street – total ignorance – what this man did when he saw the poor little baby

In a society that urges us to focus more on gain, career, and self-interest, it is frightening how some people end up ignoring things and situations that are in sight and need help or someone’s attention. It is normal to focus on personal progress, to try as much as possible to become the best version of ourselves, but not to forget what we are on this earth: humans. We have feelings and it doesn’t hurt sometimes to show empathy and kindness, on the contrary, we can bring a  major change in the world and contribute to a better tomorrow. What happened in Manila, Philippines is simply outrageous. The images are really shocking, but what is really shocking is the attitude of the people, the fact that they are so ignorant.

Imagine you are walking on a busy street and at one point, you see in front of you something that looks like a toy doll on the sidewalk. The further you go and get closer to that place, you realize that it is a real child, who is naked, lying on the cold and dirty cement. It is not an unreal scenario, but the images captured by a man who was traveling and at that time was in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

As you can see in the pictures, pedestrians were circulating and passing carelessly in that area, as if nothing had happened. Since when have people become so inhuman? Was it so difficult to see if that baby was okay and help him? But, although it was very simple, no one did it, except the man who took the photos. He approached and checked the baby, he realized that he was sleeping there. Soon, a woman dressed in torn and dirty clothes came and took the baby from there and disappeared into the crowd.

The man followed them and offered them clothes and food. According to statistics made in 2018, 16.6% of the Philippines population lives below the poverty line and the unemployment rate is 2.2%. It is so sad and awful that there are a lot of cases in that country and not only, all over the world there are many people who do not have a roof over their heads and are actually struggling with life, every day is a fight for survival. More and more cases reported day by day.

These images are very disappointing and worrying, we urge you through this article to do good deeds whenever you have the opportunity, we all wish for a better tomorrow. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in this world.”. By doing simple good deeds we can help enormously and we can also motivate and make other people do good things, triggering a chain of goodness on Earth. Please share this story and make it known, consider this a good deed by making people out there aware of these sad scenes.
