The woman posted a picture with a strong message, but no one paid attention – she died a few weeks after that
It is so beautiful when you are with a person who understands you, loves you, protects you, and wants to see you flourish every day. What is really upsetting are those cases in which couples have transitioned from a scenario similar to the one presented earlier, in the other extreme, namely constant quarrels, physical violence, mistrust, and all these things, plus a few more, which all together result in a toxic relationship. Many times when we see a couple, the signs are quite visible when it comes to such a relationship. It is very important that when we see abused people we react and offer a helping hand. Ignorance can cost lives, as in the next case.

Cases of domestic violence have reached a worrying number, with up to three million cases reported annually in the United States. Stella Martinez, 39, was the victim of domestic violence, more precisely of her boyfriend who had a very possessive and toxic behavior. The American woman was beaten until she went into a coma and after some time in which she was hospitalized, she died due to complications caused by serious injuries. She was brutally hit in the head, leading to serious brain damage.
Christopher, her ex-boyfriend, was seen by a neighbor while physically abusing Stella behind the house, after which he called the authorities who arrested him immediately. The neighbor told the authorities that they often hear screams and quarrels, Christopher’s voice being very aggressive sometimes. He tried to contact Stella but lately, he didn’t see her very often. Stella had posted a picture on her Facebook profile, in which she seems to be sad and the description attached to the picture seems to be a cry for help, which no one noticed in time.
“I’m going to die before anyone will intervene!”, Stella captioned the picture she posted on her page.

Christopher Wood was charged with attempted murder and was imprisoned for a long time. It is vital to consider the signs transmitted because sometimes we can save a life. It never hurts to ask a question by which we can show concern for a fellow human being. We never know what someone is going through, so don’t rush and judge, but give a helping hand, it can mean a lot to someone who is in trouble. Share this story with your friends and family!
