In April 2015, an ambulance brought a young pregnant woman to one of the hospitals in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. Doctors who did not expect to see anything unusual did not yet know that they were going to deal with a unique case.
After a consultation, the doctors became very confused: the woman was in the seventh month of pregnancy, but something was pushing her baby out.
The mystery was quickly elucidated: Elena Sedova, 25, was expecting triplets. Two of them were located at the top of the uterus and one at the bottom. At their own risk, the girls upstairs were pushing their sister out. Over the last few days, Elena has felt a strange movement in her abdomen, but she hopes that labor will not begin prematurely.
But, unfortunately, little Likeria appeared in the world in the seventh month of pregnancy. Very small and visibly weakened, she weighed only 950 grams. The girl was immediately placed in an incubator, and the doctors were preparing for the birth of the other little ones. But suddenly, to everyone’s amazement, Elena’s contractions stopped.
Doctors had to make a difficult choice. Usually, if the twins appear with a long time between them, in an hour the labor is artificially stimulated. But, this time, the specialists had doubts: the other two girls were even smaller than their sister. They could simply not survive. But under these conditions, the doctors decided to wait.
In 38 days, when little Likeria gained up to 1.5 kilograms, Elena felt a strong weakness and anxiety. The doctors consulted her and decided that the time of birth had come. On the same day, two healthy and wonderful little girls appeared in the world – Zlata and Stephania. And Elena was finally able to hug her three little ones.
