A malnourished dog named Clover wanted to be noticed by the volunteers of the animal protection organization Royal Animal Refuge (Georgia, USA). It seemed that the animal was eager to communicate something to the volunteers; Everyone, in fact, thought that she needed help to take care of her puppies or that she wanted to show them the newborn puppies.
Unfortunately, all Clover wanted was to tell them something more important: his insistence led them to discover a place where many animals were confined, including some malnourished and sick. Others were out of breath.
“We thought Clover would take us to her puppies, but it was so much more than that – we came across a horrible sight that we will never forget,” the volunteers said in a Facebook post. The terrible picture looked like this: a dog, a hen, two ducks, and two dead rabbits in cages; a dog with a paw in such a serious condition that it had to be amputated.
Police have arrested Ashley Greshman, a 27-year-old man, for animal cruelty.
Also there, in that infernal place, the puppy Clover had broken a pillow in which she had made a bed for her little ones.
Initially, the volunteers became aware of the situation due to requests received from some residents who contacted the shelter after seeing a dog only skin and bone walking with the puppies nearby. When the volunteers arrived at the scene, they could not capture Clover: “She did not get caught and continued to indicate by any means that she wanted to take us to this house” – at every step she took she turns to the volunteers to make sure they are following her.
“Follow me, I have to show you something,” the dog seemed to say.
Four other dogs were found, malnourished and in serious condition. Now all the surviving animals are recovering and learning to get used to humans again. Puppy Clover and her puppies are also safe and are looking for a loving family to adopt.
