Leslie David has always been an adventurous soul, and as a photographer, she has always been drawn to abandoned buildings in Ontario, Canada, where she lives. But the life of an urban explorer is full of surprises. Last year, while exploring places she could photograph, Leslie found a house that was covered in all kinds of grass.

The roof had partially fallen, and it took her a while to find the entrance. Once she enters, her life will change forever. Her discovery will touch the hearts of thousands of people. What she found: Lawrence – an old man who still lived in that old house.

The girl writes about that moment on her website: “It was hard for him to move, so he spent most of his time inside. Single. He does not have a right eye and has cataracts and an infection in his left eye. Even after noticing that a stranger simply came into his life and kept taking pictures of him, taking advantage of him, he was very kind to me. I will always cherish the pictures I took of him. He is a beautiful soul and I plan to visit him often “.
Leslie thanked Lawrence for his hospitality and promised to visit him again. At the time, she did not know that an incredible friendship would develop between them. The girl returned a few days later with food for him, and for 3 hours the two new friends sat and talked, ate, laughed, the old man told Leslie about him and his life.
From then on, Leslie always brought Lawrence food. He had given up his life so much that even after suffering a heart attack he did not ask for help. But after meeting this girl, he began to rediscover the joy of living. Leslie knew the man didn’t have much time to live, so he thought that if he renovated his house, it would bring him some joy in life. He wanted his last days to be full of joy and love, so he called some friends and relatives and they started arranging his house.

Lawrence told her he didn’t have much to live for, and he asked her to come to the funeral. The girl said on her website why she made this man’s story public: “I am posting these images in the hope that it will inspire at least one person to ask for help from someone with whom they are no longer connected. These old souls are still full of life and I have been blessed to know him. ”

Like Leslie, we hope this story inspires you.
