It had been 10 years since Jeni Stepien’s father had been killed, that day Jeni had lost the most important man in her life, but now, 10 years later, something has changed everything.
On the morning of her wedding day, Jeni stood right in front of her father’s heart. It was beating the same way had done before. Only in another man. The meeting was full of tears, Jeni met the man who survived because he received her father’s heart.
Michael Stepien, the girl’s father, had been killed in 2006, his organs were donated to several people, but his heart went out to a certain Mr. Arthur Thomas, who had waited 16 years to receive a heart. When Thomas met Jeni, she felt her father’s heart beating for the first time in 10 years.
Here is what she herself confessed: “I am so happy. The whole family is here now. It’s like we’re together again. We talked to him, we kept sending each other letters, we received his gifts for 10 years, and now he is finally here ”. Thanks to constant communication with Jeni’s family, Thomas and his wife eventually became part of the family and came together for the wedding.
“Just hugging him made me feel like I was close to my father again, which made the day really perfect. It was all I needed, ” said Michelle, a sister of the bride, and Jeni added: “It’s like I have my real father here, it’s even better because now we can share this story with other people who want thus learning that organ donation is very important ”.
