A woman lived for three years with a pregnant belly, until she found out the cruel truth. Margaret Mcmahon, 48, went to the doctor after her belly began to swell, as if she had a balloon in her abdomen.

At the first investigations, the doctors told her that it was due to irritable bowel syndrome.

The doctors’ explanation did not reassure the woman and she continued to look for answers to the problem she had been facing for a long time. After three years of pain and curious looks from those around her, Margaret was operated on, and doctors discovered a melon-sized tumor in her abdomen.

A mother of two, she lived for three years with a feeling of “endless pregnancy”. Following an x-ray, Margaret found out that she had a huge tumor in her stomach.

“The last year has been terrible. It was like I had an endless pregnancy, except that when I was pregnant, you would have a baby at the end. You just want this alien to come out of your body. By the end, I was in terrible pain. It’s horrible when you need to go to the bathroom all the time, it just put my life in “standby” mode. They thought it was irritable bowel syndrome at first, which made my abdomen swollen and I was told to lose weight. In the end, they realized it was a fibroid and I was told it was the size of a plum and not to worry, ” said Margaret.

“Three years later, I came back and the doctors told me it didn’t grow, but I wasn’t feeling well, I had pain in my hip and back,” the woman added.

This is how her daughter took her to the emergency room, where she underwent a hysterectomy, and the doctor confessed that the tumor was the size of a watermelon.

Now Margaret can enjoy life again, and her recovery went smoothly.
