In the morning, when she woke up, she had a shock: her eyes were so swollen that she could not open them

Emily Petrozza, a 21-year-old woman, woke up with swollen eyes after falling victim to a lesser-known plant.

On Sunday, Emily went fishing with some friends, and in the evening, when she went to bed, she noticed a minor irritation around her eyes but did not pay much attention, attributing her to fatigue. However, in the morning, when she woke up, she had a shock: her eyes were so swollen that she could not open them.

“I did not recognize myself in the mirror. I could see very little, my eyes were so swollen that it hurt when I opened them”, she said.

Frightened, she called a friend with whom she went to the doctor. There she found out the cause of the swelling: the girl’s eyes came in contact with the leaves of a poison ivy, a plant that causes severe irritation on any area of the body with which it comes into contact.

Fortunately, the girl escaped without complicating her situation, and the swelling disappeared after a day of medical treatment.
