Many people think that because of their looks, Pit Bulls are vicious animals, but these dogs are usually misunderstood and judged by their looks first, instead of their hearts. You know that well-known quote “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. The laws in the UK for example, any breed that resembles a Pit Bull is put to sleep, since 1991 when the Dangerous Dogs law was implemented. This happened because of fifteen dog attacks between 1981 and 1991. There are four banned breeds: Pit Bulls, Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino, and the Japanese Tosa. Cross-breeds are also forbidden to own.

Darla, a beautiful three years old Pit Bull was enjoying a happy life with her family. The daughter, a seven years old cutie named Maddison Amber created a special connection with Darla and they used to play every day. The little girl suffered from autism and Darla was her only friend, protecting her 24/7. One day, the police came by to pick up Darla to take her to an unknown location until the verdict. They had to take the dog using the force from Maddison’s arms, who had her eyes full of tears, screaming to let Darla go.

Shortly after Darla was taken, Maddison wrote on a billboard the following message and posted it on social media with herself nearby, hoping that people will join and help her retrieve Darla. You can clearly see how sad she is since Darla is not around:
“Please if you know Darla can you please write a small letter, to help us get her home. We are waiting for a court date, I will need to take character references for myself and Darla to court to prove she is not dangerous! Thank you for your support!”

The mother also mentioned online that Darla was never aggressive, never bite anyone. The family will fight to get Darla back, all to reunite Maddison with her beloved friend! A petition was created for the salvation of this Pit Bull and it was signed by more than 43.000 people.

We truly hope that Maddison will recover Darla so they can play together again and protect each other. She deserves it! Please share this article to spread positivity about this bread and maybe we can help Maddison get her best friend back!
