Andrew and Amanda were incredibly happy the day their first son was born. But their joy quickly turned to devastation when little Klayton died shortly after birth. Their doctor, Bryan Hodges, then cried with the two destroyed parents.
Three months later, Amanda found out she was pregnant, and this time with a baby boy. Now she was as terrified as she was happy. She couldn’t stand the thought of losing another child.
The two invited photographer Sarah Ledford to the delivery room to capture the birth of the “rainbow baby”. It is called children who were born after a miscarriage or after the first child died at birth.
Amanda gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Karson, Sarah captured the moment, and the photo went viral. Andrew celebrated the birth by embracing Bryan, the same doctor as at the first birth, who also cried for happiness!
