Colleen Stan became “the girl in the box” after she was abducted and kept in a box under the kidnapper’s bed between 1977-1984. The girl was only 20 years old when she was abducted.

On May 19, 1977, Colleen was 20, hitchhiking because she was going to a friend’s party in Oregon. That’s where Cameron and Janice Hooker found her. The two had a child and he thought he would be safe with them. But this could not be further from the truth because an hour later Cameron would threaten Colleen by holding a knife to her neck.

The girl was to be put in a box, a cloth was tied around her mouth, her hands and feet were tied, and a wooden box was placed over her head. “I thought I was going to die,” she told People magazine. She had been taken to the house of the two who would hold her captive in the box under their bed.
The box in which it was kept resembled a coffin, here Colleen was kept even 23 hours a day. The two took her out just to torture, hit, and abuse her. At first, the girl had been chained and left to stand in it, but then she was transferred to another who looked like a coffin!

Cameron warned her that he was part of a group called “The Company,” which would not even go to great lengths to find her and kill her if she ever thought of escaping. She was forced to sign a contract stating that she was a COMPANY’S SLAVE. ”

In August 1984, the girl managed to escape after Janice, the man’s wife, helped her. Janice ended up testifying against her husband after being offered immunity. He was sentenced to 104 years in prison.
Here’s what the contract looked like:

Fortunately, Colleen is now with her family, and although she will be forever tormented by the tortures she endures, she is now trying to be happy.
