A Belgian vlogger, who has beaten cancer twice, underwent surgery to reconstruct his jaw after chemotherapy destroyed it.

His name was Lorenz Dries, 29, from Antwerp, who was diagnosed with cancer four years ago, although at the time of the check-up he was told it was a cyst.

To save his life, doctors had to operate on him and remove the right side of his jaw and replace it with tissue and bone from his own leg. However, the transplant was rejected by the boy’s body.
Other jaw reconstruction surgeries followed, but Lorez was not protected from infections, as a result of which his skin became inflamed and the abscess appeared. In 2015, the man was diagnosed with leukemia, but although he managed to recover, after nine months of chemotherapy, his jaw was affected for the second time. The surgeons intervened again, but the young man was left with an asymmetrical appearance. But this month, fat was removed from his back and he was infected in his cheek to restore his face.

Now, Lorez says he is happy with his new look and plans to motivate those who go through situations like his: “There were times when I wanted to give up everything, but I’m glad I didn’t,” the 29-year-old.
