A Chinese man has been arrested after selling his 18-day-old daughter online.

The man, who lived in Tong’un, Fujian Province, used social media to sell his daughter for £ 2,500. What did he want to do with the money? No, he didn’t want to save someone from death or bring peace to the world, he just wanted to buy an Apple iPhone and a motorcycle, according to Chinese jurors.

The man was identified under the pseudonym “A Duan” and found a buyer for his daughter through the social network QQ, after spending days chatting. The girl’s mother, known to the public under the pseudonym “Xiao Mei”, apparently had several part-time jobs, but in the end, she agreed with her partner who came up with the idea of selling the child.
