Often the family has nothing to do with blood, but it depends entirely on love. It really is that simple! Karisa Smith shared her family’s story on the Love What Matters Facebook page, and from there it went viral. Here is what lies behind this image.
Here is what Karisa wrote on Facebook: “They are not related to blood, but they are father and daughter. My husband does everything humanly possible to take care of her as if he were his own. when she cries, he is beside her. When she needs him, he’s there. We do not use the term “stepfather.” He is her father. When he fell in love with me, he fell in love with my daughter. He accepted the responsibility of a 9-month-old baby, who is now 3 years old! Now he’s the best dad in the world for her. They are very similar and my father’s love is very deep. So deep that he decided to adopt her, now the process is underway. They will be officially father and daughter.
This picture was taken at 2 in the morning when she slipped home from work to calm her down because she missed him; he had been gone for 14 days. ”
