Abby Snodgrass was in the clothing department of a department store in Missouri, USA, when she heard a shocking scream.

The scream belonged to a mother screaming for help. It seems that her 11-month-old baby is no longer breathing. Although the store manager had already called an ambulance, no employee or customer knew what to do to help the young mother and her little girl.

Abby, just 17 years old, pushed the people who had gathered around the desperate woman, made room for her, but when she reached two she immediately began to do resuscitation maneuvers on the child. The whole incident was captured by the store’s surveillance cameras.

It seems that the teenager had just learned the resuscitation maneuver at school and, everything being very new, she knew exactly what needed to be done.

Here is what the girl confessed remembering those moments: “The only thought that did not give me peace was: God if it doesn’t work! And I just had to get over it and move on, I knew that’s what I had to do. I can’t even explain how happy I was when she started breathing! ”

The girl is now healthy, and the family said she will be forever grateful. Here is a clip that shows exactly how Abby did:
