A couple who adopted a friend’s children after she died of cancer received unexpected help from a local TV station.
Neighbors Tisha and Odri knew each other only by sight, so Tisha was surprised when Odri asked her to take care of her children for one night. But Tisha didn’t think long and agreed, being the mother of five herself. All the more so because the neighbor explained that he would stay overnight in the hospital for some investigations. In those moments, Tisha couldn’t even imagine how much her life would change.
Odri returned home upset. Doctors found her stomach cancer in the second stage of development. The trouble brought these two women very close. Tisha supported Odri in everything, becoming her only help.
Odri was aware that she would not live long, but she was most worried about the future of her children. Before she died, she asked Tisha and her husband to become guardians for her children.
Tisha understood best what children would experience after their mother died, as she grew up in an orphanage. During this period, the woman managed to fall in love with them. And the children became friends with each other. Even though the Beauchemin family was not wealthy and the house was barely spacious for 7 people, they still decided to adopt the three children.
Thus, from two families, a large family was born. The new parents embraced the adopted children with great care, support and love, and their children shared with them everything they had. The children grew up and the house became uncomfortable. Under these conditions, it could not even be an intimate space for everyone: some slept in the living room, others in the kitchen…
One day someone knocked on the family door. The local TV station, hearing about this heroic story, decided to surprise them.
For a few days, the family stayed at the hotel to start work on their house. They certainly weren’t limited to just one wall. The best architects and designers worked to transform the space to make a place for everyone. When the family moved into the new house, everyone was shocked and speechless. Even in the most daring dreams, they could not imagine such a thing. The children were crying with happiness and never tired of enjoying the new bedrooms. The parents were delighted with how functional and ergonomic their home became.
But here the surprises are not over. The TV people prepared a certificate for them to buy food and they handed the 18-year-old boy another certificate, with the help of which he will be able to buy his own house.
