An Ohio woman found her dog stolen eight years ago during a robbery at her home because she never stopped looking for it

An Ohio woman found her dog stolen eight years ago during a robbery at her home because she never stopped looking for it. Julia Nemeth has been raising Junior since she was just a few days old, and despite the years that followed, she never stopped hoping to find him one day.

For years she rummaged through photos of animal shelters in the hope that she would come across the gentle eyes of her beloved friend, Junior.

At one point she thought she had found it on Craigslist, where it had been put up for sale, but the person who posted the ad never replied to the email.

The woman never gave up looking for her dog

Julia later learned that Junior was repeatedly sheltered at the Humane Society of Summit County, where he was known as Buddy and where he first arrived in July 2018. He quickly became the favorite puppy of the shelter’s employees and volunteers. but he was never very friendly with those who tried to adopt him. The shelter tried three times to find a family and each time Junior was brought back.

In mid-December, Julia saw Buddy’s picture on the Humane Society of Summit County website and knew it was Junior.

She spoke with the shelter staff and discussed Junior’s personality. That’s how they discovered that Buddy and Junior are, in fact, the same puppy.

Junior recognized his mistress from day one

From first sight, the dog recognized Julia, approached her, and even executed some commands she had learned from her when she was just a puppy. It was Junior.

The next day, Julia brought her four children to meet with Junior to make sure he would fit in. That night, Junior returned home.

“I can’t believe Junior is home. I’ve been through so many challenges in my life and having it back means everything to me, ” she said, according to wsbtv.com.

Junior, who is now 9 years old, has integrated perfectly into the family.

“My family is finally complete again,” said Julia Nemeth.
