Lacey Dunkin is a woman from the United States, whose story can become the subject of a movie.
At the age of 25, Lacey made the decision to become a mother whether or not she would be married. In 2011, after days of struggling with the bureaucracy, she was offered to adopt not one, and not even two, but four sisters.
The young woman agreed without hesitation. “I don’t know why I said YES!” Right away, but I know I couldn’t have done otherwise,” Lacey said. In fact, at that time the fifth sister had already been born, but the latter was taken for adoption by another family right from the maternity ward.
The adoption process proved to be extremely tiring.
One day, Lacey received a phone call from the girls’ biological mother. This gave the young mother unexpected news: she was pregnant with a little girl again! She dared to ask her to adopt the little girl who was about to be born. Lacey couldn’t refuse.
Now, Lacey lives happily with her six wonderful daughters: 9-year-old Sophie, 7-year-old Natalie and Melanie, just 6-year-old Kaylee, and 4-year-old Lea and Cecily, respectively.
This year, Lacey was nominated for Motherhood Dare – a special award given for the special merits of motherhood.
Such a gesture of the young mother raising her six children alone deserves all the praise. The woman took care of them all to give them the love of a family.
