Richard Wayne Landers Jr. was abducted at the age of 5 by his grandparents who kept him away from his parents for almost 20 years, now he talks about his experience and defends his grandparents who separated him from his parents.

Although the boy had lived with his grandparents since birth, a court order would change that. According to KARE 11, in 1994 the Landers family fled Indiana with Richard to escape the boy’s mother and stepfather who lived in the car, had no job, and were fighting for child custody.
Here is what the boy, now a real man, says: “I was where I was supposed to be, my grandparents were right in what they did and I don’t care what others say.” After kidnapping their grandson, Richard E. and Ruth A. Landers changed their names to Raymond Michael Iddings and Susan Kay Iddings. Although they were accused of kidnapping, the case was closed because the police could not track them down.
When Richard was found in 2013, he was 24 years old, married, and expecting his first child. To this day, he is defending his grandparents, the couple who raised him, despite the fact that they are facing a kidnapping charge. A movie-like case, isn’t it?
