A place that seems to be built to look like the places in the stories. Here’s what the LAKE HOUSE looks like!
THE UNDERWATER BALLROOM, as it was called, is actually an underground room originally intended for smoking and built under the roof of an aquarium. Anyway, it’s unique and it’s located in Wright’s Lea Park.
A giant statue of Neptune sits above the deep dome that hides a secret room under the lake in Britain. The whole park expresses elegance and opulence. It was built in the 1800s by Whitaker Wright, a man who did dubious but very profitable business, who was later convicted of fraud after years of delaying investors, avoided paying loans, and tricked those who gave him money.
In 1904 this man took his own life with the help of a cyanide pill on the day he was to receive his sentence. Behind him remained this unique place in the world: a long hall connects the dome to the entrance to the ballroom which has a colored glass roof that makes it possible for light to enter through the water above.
