Fortunately, the locals came to their aid quickly with bags, boxes, baskets, and anything in which they could store the animals without any guilt. It seems that they managed to save a large part of the poor creatures, although a few died.

But the chicks were, poor souls, everywhere.

Unfortunately, many chicks were crushed, others died due to the fall, but most were saved due to rapid human intervention.
