A man called and reported seeing a mysterious, pale figure at a neighbor’s window that appeared to be that of a little girl.

Policeman Mark Holste of FLORIDA, USA, will never forget the call he received on July 13, 2005.

A man called and reported seeing a mysterious, pale figure at a neighbor’s window that appeared to be that of a little girl. Although the house had been inhabited for the past three years, no one had ever seen a child there.

The neighbor who had called was afraid that it might be a case of child abuse, so the police officer quickly went to the scene to investigate the house.

When Holste knocked on the door, nothing could prepare him for what he found inside: animal excrement all over the floor, old chewed food, garbage, spider webs, and many beetles.

But the worst was yet to come: a 6-year-old girl, hungry, completely naked except for the dirty diaper he had on her. The little girl was sitting by the trash.

The girl’s name was Danielle, she was transported to the hospital immediately, she couldn’t walk, she couldn’t talk and she couldn’t even eat. The doctor of the pediatric hospital where she was hospitalized stated that 85% of a child’s brain development is achieved in the first 5 years of life, but the environment in which Danielle lived deprived her of any human contact, the girl had developed symptoms of autism.

It was not until 2007 that she learned what unconditional love was, when Bernie and Diane Lierow adopted her. They say that God put Dani in their lives for a reason. Since living with them, the girl has made remarkable progress, now she can drink water and eat alone and she is much more open.

They confessed: “Since we have Dani in our lives we have lived in a huge carousel, but we do not want to go down!”.
