Luc Perreault is a motorcyclist, father, has many tattoos, and drinks beer. Even he admits that it looks as if if you looked at him a little more insistently, “he would be able to eat your soul.”

In July 2013, Luc was testing his mother’s motorcycle when he decided to take a short coffee break, so he went into a small restaurant. Luc tends to stand out in any crowd, so he caught the attention of a mother who had come there with her daughter. Instead of being intimidated by the strange giant next to her, the little girl just wanted to say hello to him, which she did, and Luc answered in the same way. It was a very sweet dialogue until the girl’s mother intervened and replied: “We are not talking to filthy motorcyclists!”.
Later that day, Luc wrote an open letter on Facebook to the mother, who had judged him so brutally and was educating his daughter to do the same. Here is the letter:
“Yes, I’m a big guy with motorcycles and tattoos, I’m noisy, I drink beer and I look like I could eat your soul if you looked at me a little weirder.
What you don’t know is that I’ve been married for 11 years, my kids call me Daddy and I’m a college graduate…
My mother is proud of me and tells everyone how proud she is to have such a wonderful son, my nephews are always happy to see their uncle, Luc…
When my daughter broke her hand, I cried more than she did…
I read books, I help people, I do everything I can to help war veterans, and I cry at movies…
So next time I say hello to your daughter, and you shake her hand and say, “No, honey, we’re not talking to filthy bikers.”
Remember that even though you offended my feelings, this filthy biker will be the first to jump into your house in flames to save your little girl’s pet fish, just so she doesn’t get sad!
– L.P.”
