Walt was 10 years old when he said he had a strange dream: he saw his daughter somewhere in the future… He even knew what name she would have: Chloe. During the same period, Walt moved with his family to a new neighborhood. There he became friends with a girl of the same age, Annie. In a very short time, they became best friends. Over the years, their friendship became much deeper and turned into love, so they got married.
It seems that one day Annie told Walt that she wanted a family, that she wanted a little girl to call Chloe, Walt was very happy, that was his favorite name too!
For four years in a row, they tried all kinds of fertility treatments, but in the end, they reconciled with the thought that the time had come for the last solution: adoption.
“It was hard, I struggled with the thought that God is bad, for who knows what reason… Then I felt sorry for my thoughts,” says Annie. The desire to have children, however, was growing stronger.
One day the agency sent them a message: “She’s a girl!”: A young pregnant woman decided to give her unborn child for adoption, and she wanted her daughter to be adopted by the two of them. Soon, however, the two began to fall prey to dark thoughts: what if the little girl wasn’t meant to be theirs?
They then went to visit the pregnant young woman, Alice: “I went to the young woman’s house, I knocked on the door. When it opened, I realized that in front of me was an older ‘variant’ of the girl in the dream. I thought, ‘God, what’s going on?’ At that moment, the name Chloe came to mind, “Walt said.
“We talked for about three hours.” At one point, the social worker who had accompanied us asked if she had found a name for the girl. We were not a little surprised when the young woman told us that she had thought of naming the girl Chloe. When I heard her, I burst into tears “Poor Alice, she thought we didn’t like the name,” Annie said.
“At that moment, any thought that told me not to take an abandoned child was shattered… When my natural mother said her name, I said to myself: All right, I’m a father! She is my little girl, ”said Walt.
Annie remembers that when her daughter was born she looked at her and kept saying, “I’m your mother!”
