“My mother died in the shower, you can take care of us? ”

Salvatore Cicalese saw his mother faint in the shower so, scared, he took his 2-month-old sister in his arms and went to a neighbor telling her: “My mother died in the shower, you can take care of us? ”.

Jessica Penoyer, a neighbor of the Cicalese family, told reporters what happened and the shock she had when she saw a little boy in front of her house, holding his sister in her arms, and telling her that his mother had died.

“She was sitting in front of me and holding something that, at first glance, looked like a doll,” she said.

“My mother died in the shower, can you take care of us?” The little one said to his neighbor, without suspecting that his gesture would save his mother’s life.

She immediately called the 911 emergency number.

“My neighbor’s son just came to tell me that his mother died in the shower,” the woman told authorities.

Initially, the woman understood that it was the little one’s dog, but the little boy corrected her.

“No, my mother died in the shower. Can you take care of us? ”He said.

The ambulance arrived shortly after, and paramedics found the mother of the children following an epileptic seizure while in the shower.

“Honestly, it saved my life! If I hadn’t received help in time, I don’t know, I could have drowned,” his mother said.

“Every day is a challenge for us. He asks me a million times if I’m going to be okay. He asks me: are you going to have another crisis? Are you going to die today? ”, Said the mother of the two children.

From that moment, the brave Salvatore was recognized as the “firefighter of honor” by the local brigade after his efforts to save his mother’s life.
