This is the story of Nicole Ziesemer and her husband, Mathew. Ever since they found out Nicole was pregnant, the two have made plans about how the birth will go. They wanted everything to be as natural as possible, so they kept the visits to the hospital to a minimum, and even refused the ultrasound, they didn’t want to know if their child would be a girl or a boy until after he was born. They decided for Nicole to give birth at home and hired a midwife to attend the birth.
Their baby was to be born on January 30, they made all the preparations and were looking forward to the big day. However, things did not go as planned.
On December 29, four and a half weeks earlier than planned, Nicole’s water broke. Without thinking, the two went to the hospital urgently, but the road to get there was a nightmare.
A heavy snowstorm blocked the alley in front of them, so Matthew had to clear the car and the alley to cross.

After a long journey, the two of us arrived at the hospital, and Nicole had to give up her plan to give birth naturally at home.
The young mother refused any anesthesia or medication to help her give birth. She struggled for 30 hours, and eventually, exhausted, had to accept medication to induce labor.
48 hours after the water broke, Nicole gave birth to a baby girl and the joy was great, but when the doctor wanted to remove the placenta, he was amazed: Nicole had twins!
An hour after the girl was born, a boy, Cade, was born.

The two children are healthy, and the parents are very happy and proud, only they will never forget what they went through.

The hospital employees declared that it is a case that they will remember all their lives, due to the strong emotions that both they and their parents went through.
Therefore, things do not happen every time as we plan. Sometimes fate intervenes and reserves surprises for us that we did not think about.
