This man’s alarm clock almost killed him!

This man’s alarm clock almost killed him, he did something very common, look at the dangers we face if we do the same as him.

Wiley Day is 32 years old and is from Alabama, USA. He received the worst alarm call in the world when his iPhone 7, which he had left charging all night, pumped nearly 110 volts of electricity through his body while he slept peacefully. In fact, it’s a real miracle he’s alive.

What did he do? Apparently, he didn’t do anything special, as is his habit every night before bed, Day plugged his iPhone into an extensible cable so he could look on Facebook for a while before falling asleep.

But that night, while he was sleeping, his chain slipped into the space between the charger and the exposed part of the extension cord. What happened next the man will never forget: a huge electric current passed through his whole body immediately. The heat and shock threw him to the floor!

Day remembers thinking at the time, “So that’s when you die.” His chain conducted electricity, a moment later, he could no longer feel his body and had great pressure in the neck area. Fortunately, he managed to cry for help and woke up his family.

He had the presence of mind to snatch the necklace from his neck while his niece entered the room scared and saw that smoke was coming out of his sheets! His shirt almost caught fire! Only then did he realize that he had been electrocuted: “I could feel the strands burning in my mouth.”

At the hospital, he was treated for 3rd-degree burns to his neck, chest, and hands. It seems that he used a very cheap extensible cable, the kind that most of us use because they are affordable and can be found everywhere. However, you should know that because of them, about 4,700 fires start in America, killing more than 50 people and injuring almost 280 others, annually, according to the American Burns Association.
