Charmaine Chantler was practically forced to stay locked in the house, she could not go anywhere because of the intense pain and chronic diarrhea that forced her to have to go to the bathroom more than 12 times a day. The 30-year-old woman lost weight dramatically and believed she had digestive problems caused by irritable bowel syndrome, a disease that is caused by stress, anxiety, and depression that comes with symptoms such as pain, bloating, diarrhea, or constipation.

When she first went to the doctor with her problems, she received the diagnosis she suspected – an irritated colon. But the cause of her pain was much more serious.

She was shocked to learn that tests showed she had endocrine cancer that causes tumors to grow in hormone-producing glands, the woman told the Daily Mail: “When I found out I had cancer, I automatically assumed I was going to die.”

The 5-hour operation she underwent left a triangular mark on her stomach, but it was a success, a 2.8-centimeter tumor was removed. Now she is healthy and confesses: “Life is much more beautiful now that I no longer have to plan everything I do around being very close to a toilet! A friend told me that my sign is a triangle, a symbol of power: no matter how much pressure you apply on any side, it will never break.
