TWO BABIES only 9 months old were found hungry and covered in infected wounds. This seems to be one of the worst cases of child neglect in recent times. Not only will the parents be arrested, but the grandparents will suffer the same fate.
Aislyn Miller (24 years old) and Kevin Fowler (25 years old) are the parents of the 9-month-old twins who were found looking like skeletons. They told the police that they did not have the necessary experience to raise babies and did not know for sure how to provide them with everything they needed. They also said that they did not have health insurance, so they could not go to the hospital with their children.
According to a nurse, the children weighed only 3 kilograms and were very malnourished because at 9 months the children should weigh between 6 and 10 kilograms, according to the pediatrician. A little girl had hair around her finger, which caused her to bleed. One of the girls had feces in her ear, moreover, one worm crawled out of the other’s vagina.
Each parent was accused of child neglect and abuse, the children’s grandparents were also charged. Authorities concluded that the children’s grandmother, who visited them often, should have known by the way the little ones showed that they needed help, but since she did not call the police, she may also go to prison.
