Some dogs are living in deplorable places and they are not used to be visited by strangers. This Pit Bull reacted aggressively at the arrival of her rescuers, but later on, they found out why. She started growling more as they were approaching but some different sounds caught their attention. When they had a closed look it was clear why she reacted that way.
They weren’t intimidated by the momma’s offensive signals and continued their job, namely to check the surroundings and guess what they found? Six tiny and cute souls, standing all together forming a pile of cuteness.
Now we understand why the mom was growling at the beginning. The next step was to take out the furry family out of that ruin. They placed a large trap for the Pit Bull mom and at first, it was a bit difficult because she wasn’t cooperating.
They managed to have her caged after grabbing one of her babies and lured her inside. Then they gathered all the pitties, one by one. Her behavior changed after she realized they were there to help her and her family.
Upon arriving at Stray Rescue of Saint Louis, they started to care for them and despite her previous attempts to scare the rescuers, the momma started cooperating. The center staff noticed that she had some scars, possibly after other attempts to keep her family safe. All seven of them were placed on a big and comfy dog bed, reunited in a warm and clean environment.
What a situation twist! It was hard to believe at the beginning that she will turn out to be such a good mommy. Dogs are really clever! Let’s have a moment and thank the rescuers for their great work and hope that they will save more families like this one.
