Bullying has a great impact on the behavior and future of the victim and the bully. One of the worst parts of bullying is that the victim doesn’t express the pain felt, most of the parents not being aware of the situation. A change will be noticed, hopefully, since a new law will fine the parents and even place them in jail for a bullying kid. The bad thing is that bullying doesn’t happen only at school, it can happen in the workplace as well.
There are many types of bullying, such as physical, verbal, or relational, all of them affecting the child in different ways. Most of the victims are not asking for help, the most common reason being fear.
When parents are sending their kids to school, they expect them to learn and grow in a positive and peaceful environment. There are schools that don’t take bullying seriously.
Fortunately, this law will put an end to this unwanted behavior. In the state of Wisconsin, the law was already applied in towns like Plovin, Shawano, and Wisconsin Rapids and the bullies’ parents could be fined over $300, which should make them have a chat with their children.
According to the new law, in case it’s the first bullying report, the parents will not be fined. But the fines will increase every time it happens again, going up to a bitter $681 for every offense made, motivating the tutors to discipline their children.
This “disease” spread all over the world, making children and not only develop anxiety, depression, and other disorders that manifest over the years. According to researches, this is most common in middle school. The anti-bullying movement is focusing on the rehabilitation and change of the every-day bullies. Chief of the Shawano Police Department stated: “This isn’t generated towards the kids being kids, some playground banter.
This is the person that is meticulously using social media or saying things that are vulgar in an attempt to hurt, discredit, and really demean a person.”
Because of its effectiveness, the bullying rates decreased. Upon hearing the news, the parents preferred to prevent their kids from becoming more violent, as well as the huge fine.
