Senior Pit Bull Is Feeling Alone as All the Other Dogs From The Shelter Were Adopted!

It’s so relieving to see that some dogs find a forever home where they can receive the affection deserved. It’s true, the shelters have specialized personnel, most of them working there because of their big love for the furry ones. This Pitt Bull, on the other hand, was the only one left to be adopted, making him truly sad. We all like happy endings, right? Take a look at this video to find out his story!

Capone, a senior Pit Bull, was the only one left in the shelter after all his fluffy friends were adopted and welcomed in new happy homes. The staff couldn’t help but notice his sadness. The director of the Ionia County Animal Shelter stated in an interview for The Dodo: “For quite some time Capone was the only dog we had in the shelter. All the kennels were empty, except for sweet, quiet, kind Capone.”

There were some interested people, and Capone was adopted at some point in 2017, but did not get along with another dog in the house, and ultimately was returned to his old kennel. He even stopped eating, because of the loneliness. “The Capone we met in 2017 and the Capone wet met in 2018 were two different dogs, he was heartbroken and anyone who has felt true heartbreak understands how proper diet takes the back seat.

After he was surrendered the second time, it seemed like he picked and chose his friends as if he truly felt betrayed. He became very attached to us shelter staff. He is a Velcro Dog, that kind of dog that loves to be right next to you, with a sticky behavior.”, Quinn said. The shelter then decided to look for a home where Capone will be the only dog present, but that wasn’t so easy to find.

Due to the fact that he lost his appetite, lost some weight and the shelter staff had to make him eat somehow in order to keep him healthy, sometimes getting around every day with treats. He was slowly losing himself. They were posting pictures and posts on Facebook daily hoping that someone will finally show up and give him the love he needed. Finally, all the determination paid off!

A couple messaged the shelter Facebook page showing interest in Capone. They fell in love with Capone’s story and pictures. They didn’t think twice and came to the shelter for the big meeting, bringing with them a custom name tag with his name and information. But will Capone like his new potential parents?\
Quinn was so nervous and impatient, holding her breath as she was walking with Capone to be greeted by the couple.

As she walked into the room with Capone, he looked at Jon and Ashlee for a few moments. They bent down and to everyone excitement, the magic happened: Capone ran directly in their arms, leaving everyone speechless, almost in tears.
After he left the shelter, the staff was worried that Capone will be returned for the third time, making him even pickier.

But, time passed and the dog was finally happy, according to the pictures that Jon and Ashlee sent them. You can clearly see the change when looking at his wide smile while sleeping in his cozy bed. Upon seeing such a beautiful ending, the staff couldn’t keep away their tears of joy. What a wonderful ending, let’s share Capone’s story!
