Piranha is a carnivorous or omnivorous species of fish that lives in southern America in freshwater. The image of this fish has always been terrifying due to its sharp fangs and the many stories in which they attack people. This cold-blooded “killer” rarely exceeds the size of 40 cm, and this reputation was obtained by the way it can devour a predator much larger than them in a few seconds, it is still alive.
They also have no problem using their peers and sometimes even chicks as food when their resources are scarce.
An American named Jeremy Wade thought of doing a test to prove the veracity of the legends he heard about piranha fish. He lives in a house in South America and has a small pool in the garden. Jeremy thought he could do this test right in the backyard of his house using the pool he had at his disposal. He did some research on the source from which he could get several specimens of this species, and finally found what he was looking for at a nearby reservation.

The man managed to bring several hundred piranha fish to his home pool. In an attempt to find out if they are attracted to human flesh, he decided to starve them for a few days to increase their appetite. After these days, he was ready for the experiment. Initially, he put a drop of blood in the pool to see how the small predators react. The reaction was spontaneous when the several hundred fish fought for the drop of blood. They immediately felt that a hearty meal was coming. Then Jeremy threw them a piece of pork. And this time the fish went crazy when they smelled it and devoured it in just a few seconds.

At last, the time had come for the real experiment. Dressed only in a pair of shorts, being naked, the man slowly entered the pool full of piranhas. The fish immediately appeared around him. They were researching the new potential food, Jeremy. After a few seconds of inspection, the fish began to lose interest in the man and retreated to the other side of the pool, leaving Jeremy speechless. Then, seeing that nothing was happening, the man went to them, the result being the same.
The fish were not interested in him at all, and the “ferocious predator” called the piranha had become a calm fish and disinterested in human food.
It seems that this myth was destroyed by Jeremy Wade, the man who had the courage to enter a pool full of piranha fish. These fish are not interested in human flesh as the myth is, but very rarely in exceptional situations. Even then they cannot eat human flesh as easily, as their size is small.
