A 24-year-old woman from New York has been struggling for 8 years with facial hair and overweight!

A 24-year-old woman from New York has been struggling for 8 years with facial hair and overweight, symptoms caused by a hormonal disorder that affects one in 10 women: polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Despite the negative comments, the woman has given up shaving her face lately because she wants to feel good in her skin, not to hide, and, above all, to draw attention to this common condition among women.

Alma was diagnosed with PCOS when she was 16 years old and in a row shaved her face to hide her health problem. Now that she’s not doing this, she says people are sending her all sorts of ugly messages.

Her boyfriend, with whom she has been together for 5 years, is with her and says that their relationship is not affected by this aspect.

However, the mouth of the world affects her quite a lot. “I was told I was ugly, that I should kill myself. Some have nicknamed me Cancer, “said Alma in an interview with the British DailyMail.

“People always want to take pictures of me, laugh at me and make unpleasant comments about my appearance, but I try to get over it, I am aware that these aggressions reflect the frustrations of those people,” she added.

Alma’s friend says that the beard does not define her as a person. “What matters is the soul, not the look,” she says.

“I would like to convey to all women who suffer from this health problem that it is OK to show the world how you are, how you feel, even if it is not considered normal. I don’t want to change just for the sake of the world. I’m as happy as I am now, “says Alma.

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a condition that causes an abnormal increase in insulin levels, leading to hormonal disorders (excess testosterone) that result in weight gain, painful menstruation, fatigue, acne, infertility, and excessive hair growth on the body.
