Yesenia Sesmas, 34, admitted that she is guilty of the most terrible things a woman who wants to be a mother can be guilty of.
She confessed that she killed her 27-year-old girlfriend, Laura Abarca-Nogueda, before stealing her 6-month-old baby, little Sophia.
Laura was shot dead in her Wichita apartment, while Sophia was reported missing. Local police determined that the main suspect was Sesmas, who had fled with the newborn to Dallas.
According to the criminal, Laura would have agreed to give up her child, but she changed her mind at the last minute. This would have annoyed the woman so much that she shot her, although she stated that she did not want to kill her, stating that she only wanted to threaten her in order to force her to give her the baby.
Detectives believe that Sesmas planned her murder in detail: she lied to all acquaintances for 9 months that she was pregnant, in her last month of pregnancy she showed up at Laura’s apartment to take her child.
Authorities went to the woman’s home in Dallas, arrested Sesmas, and found Sophia safe in the house.
After Sophia was reunited with her family, her uncle said that the family is relieved, but I still mourn her mother: “Laura was a loving mother, she was an amazing person. I know she could only be a mother for 6 days, but I’m sure these were the most beautiful moments of her life. We appreciate that you are praying for her soul. ”
