Buried tank discovered – what the discoverers found inside left everyone speechless – a real treasure

World War II was the largest military conflict in history, the numbers representing the number of dead are staggering: between 70 and 85 million people died in that period, in 1940 this meant 3% of the world’s population. Since then until now, many things have been found that belonged to the soldiers, and in the next story, we will discuss a discovery that contains a sad, love story, between a soldier and a wife that was waiting home. He wrote a letter that went around the world and filled many hearts with sadness, because of his way of expressing his feelings for his beloved wife, while he was wounded, bleeding, crammed between pieces of cold metal.

The tank was discovered 25 years after the end of the war, somewhere in a dense forest in Russia, close to Vyazma. In the tank, more precisely in the driver’s seat, were discovered the remains of the soldier we spoke of earlier, named Ivan Kolosov, a revolver gun with one bullet left and a letter. Onboard the tank were four men, according to the letter, namely the commander, the lower lieutenant Ivan Sidorovich Kolosov, Vasily Orlov, and the mechanical pilot Pavel Rudov. After the commander was seriously wounded and Vasily was killed, the remaining two continued the fight, Kolosov and Orlov, moved the ammunition to a car and used all the resources found in other abandoned tanks to continue the fight. The two tankers managed to destroy a column of Germans themselves, but on October 24 they were hit head-on and the cannons were destroyed. Vasily died, and all these things were seen by the last remaining, namely Ivan Kolosov, who wrote a letter with all that had happened.

“Hello, my Varya! No, we won’t meet. Yesterday we destroyed another column of Germans. The fascist shell struck the side armor and exploded inside. Until I took the car into the forest, Vasily has died. My wound is cruel. I buried Vasily Orlov in a birch grove. It was alight. Basil died before he could tell me a word, nothing will be handed to his beautiful Zoe and white-haired Masha, the little girl that looks so much like a dandelion fluff. So of the three tankers were single. The night passed in agony, lost a lot of blood. Now for so\me reason the pain, burn the entire breast, and I lay down on the shower quiet. We did everything we could. We chased the enemy and did our best, the Germans must not walk on our fields and forests. I never would have lived life so if not for you, Varya. You helped me always: on the Khalkhin-Gol and here. Thank you, dear! People get older and the sky is forever, just like your young eyes that I always admired. They will never age, never fade. Time will pass, people will heal wounds, people will build new cities, will grow new gardens. There will be another life, another song will be sung. But never forget a song about us, about the three soldiers. You will have beautiful children, you will love again. And I’m happy that I leave you with my great love for you. Your Ivan Kolosov.” This is the letter twenty-five years later found in the tank together with the remains of the tanker, the letter that was never sent…

The letter written above by Ivan Kolosov was found and brought to his beloved Varya. It is wonderful that the letter has finally reached the recipient. The four men fought to the end of their powers for their homeland, they deserve all the respect and praise. Share this with your friends and family.
