It was a cloudy autumn day, when Sam was walking down the street and at one point he noticed in his way, on the sidewalk, an object that looked like a leather wallet. The tired man leaned over and picked up his wallet and curiously, like everyone else, looked inside. Sam found inside a substantial amount of money, but no trace of documents that would help identify the right holder. He searched more closely and found a folded letter.
The letter was for Michael and was from a girl named Anna. Even though he could keep that amount of money, he remembered that he also went through difficult times when he lost his wallet full of documents and with money inside, and it proved to be a real headache, so he decided to read the letter and try to find the right holder of the wallet. He found this phrase written on the folded paper:
“Dear Michael. My mother doesn’t allow me to meet you anymore. Sorry. You must know that I love you and I will always love you. Anna ”
The day and the month were erased but the year written there was 1954! That’s more than 60 years! Deeply moved by Anna’s feelings for Michael and the circumstances in which they broke up, he decided to look for Anna. Sam went to the post office and inquired, looked for the person who wrote the letter, and finally found Anna, who according to information found in some older files, was hospitalized in an asylum and fortunately also found the address of the respective institute.
He arrived at the asylum and asked about Anna and luckily she was there! Anna began to cry as soon as she saw the handwritten letter, over 60 years old. She told Sam that she wanted to meet Michael, with whom she kept her promise and never stopped loving him.
Sam discovered that Michael lived not far from the asylum so he decided to pay him a visit and tell him what happened, that he contacted Anna and that she remained single, because all this time her love for him was still there, never consumed.
