The story that broke the heart of a missionary from Uganda – the reason why it was quiet in the nursery he visited
If you are a parent, you certainly know what the interior of a nursery or kindergarten sounds like. The atmosphere there is very energetic, full of noise and screams of playful children. You have probably felt how you charge with young energy when you enter such rooms and you miss when you remember yourself, playing as a child, worry-free and trouble-free. The only problem we had was probably that we didn’t really want to go to bed, we would have been playing all the time, outside with other kids or inside with toys, siblings or pets.
Not all children have the same type of happy childhood. Unfortunately, there are many children who do not have a family and are waiting to be adopted and get to know a loving family to live with and create memories. The experience of a missionary from Uganda changed his outlook on life forever, making him embrace his child when he returned home and feel how lucky he is.
A missionary visited an orphanage in Uganda and after he entered the building he could not help but notice a very dubious thing. It was an oppressive silence, something that is not found in places full of children. He also somehow felt sad, probably due to the energy in the building.
After all the experience there, he came to a conference where he talked to a couple, the parents of a little girl. He told them about the overwhelming silence he felt there. The reason it was completely quiet was because the children got used to the idea that they would never leave that place, which brought a wave of sadness in their souls. They resigned themselves and accepted the idea that they would not have a normal childhood, which is very disturbing for some children who should explore and enjoy life. He explained that at first they were full of life and playing, but after a while, they stopped.
After the couple got home and saw their daughter, they took her in their arms and made promises that no matter what happened they would not abandon the little girl, that they would always be there no matter the situation. The story is disturbing, let’s distribute this story as much as possible and in this way urge people to adopt and give a chance to children who do not have many possibilities.
