Two animals gave her a lesson that she will remember forever
There are many areas on earth where people affected by floods live and just think how difficult it is to live with the constant fear of tomorrow, that maybe everything you’ve built up will go away at any moment. In such moments it is important for people to be as united as possible and to show humanity and solidarity. This article presents an event that took place in Paraguay and a volunteer-managed to capture a moment, a picture that makes a thousand words and from which we can all learn.
Six years ago, the people of the city of Ayolas in Paraguay endured the disastrous consequences of the storm that lasted no more and no less than three consecutive days. The waters of the river in the locality rose so much that two people died and over 25,000 people lost their homes.
Not to mention the wounded, there were hundreds of them, seeking for medical assistance. Many rescuers have been sent there on a mission to save and recover what is possible. Among the volunteers, there was Karen Forcado, a very helpful woman who has been involved in many life-saving operations. Karen has always been an altruistic and supportive person, she never backed down when it came to offering help to those in need. Karen witnessed a very emotional event, captured during the rescue operation near the river.
She caught something in the distance, swimming towards her. It looked like an animal, it looked like a dog at first glance. The closer he got, the clearer the picture became. It was a dog, a German shepherd who was accompanied by a kitten standing on his back, keeping close so as not to fall over in the cold water. Karen posted the image on the internet where it soon went viral. She captioned the touching picture in a way that it got into the heart of a lot of internet users, making them share it:
“This image moved me to tears. It is well known by everyone that dogs and cats do not get along very well. But, in a moment of trouble, the dog helped his enemy, the little cat! This proves once again that we are all children of the Lord and we must help our neighbor in difficult situations.”
